Common questions

What is USSD voting?
USSD voting lets someone vote by dialling a short code on their phone, the same way they check a Mobile Money balance. A menu appears, they pick a nominee and confirm, and the vote is counted. It works on any phone and needs no internet connection.
Do USSD votes count the same as online votes?
Yes. Mould counts USSD and web votes into the same tally, so a nominee's leaderboard position reflects support from both channels.
Does the voter need data or airtime?
No data bundle is needed. The voter pays for their votes with Mobile Money as part of the USSD flow.
Can I advertise the USSD code on flyers and radio?
That is exactly what it is for. Once you publish USSD voting for your event, the short code is stable and can go on posters, flyers, radio adverts and social posts.
